There is something special about this this style of majorettes... It was previously defined solely by the twirling of batons and drum-major-type uniforms, in the hands of African American women, majorette has been transformed and expanded to an artistic style of its own, whose routines sing just as loudly as the instruments blaring behind them. So, if feeling that big energy from the crowd is what you're looking for then look no more...RIGHT HERE IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!!!!

WELCOME TO THE PRANCING PANTHERS DANCE LINE/MAJORETTES TEAM
“We don’t try to fit in because we were born to stand out, and whatever we do, we do it with class!” -Coach Nancy
Are you ready to witness the pulse of Arizona dance?
We are the Prancing Panthers, the East Valley's premier and only majorette dance line rooted in the electric, powerful traditions of HBCU culture.
We don't just perform; we bring the Southern SWAG, precision, and history of the Deep South right here to the Arizona sand. Our distinct style—a fiery blend of footwork and flavor—is a direct lineage from the legendary Alcorn State University.
We are more than a team; we are a vibrant, culture-rich movement, proudly supported by our incredible parents. Join us in celebrating this legacy and making noise across the Valley!

MEET THE TEAM
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.

Captain
AJ
Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, I'm a 17-year-old high school senior with a five-year history in dance. I've always loved the energy of majorettes in parades, and that childhood excitement is exactly why I joined the team and am honored to serve as its Captain. I plan to continue my dual commitment to performance and athletics by joining an HBCU majorette dance line while also running track at the collegiate level.

Co-Captain
Justice
I'm Justice, a 17-year-old dancer who recently relocated to Arizona from North Carolina, bringing prior experience from my high school majorette team. My passion for dance remains strong; upon moving, my first priority was to find a team and being able to join The Prancing Panthers, where I currently serve in a leadership role as Co-Captain. For college, I plan to combine my interests: pursuing a degree in real estate while continuing to perform on an HBCU dance line or a university team.

Pantherette Captain
Joy
Joy is a 11-year-old 6th grader with a love for dancing, performing, and spreading positive energy. She’s fun, creative, determined, and always ready to shine—whether she’s on the field, in class, or helping others. Joy started tumbling the moment she could walk and dancing came shortly after. When’s she not dancing, Joy loves to read, play games and travel. Her passion is to create routines and teach others. As captain she’s dedicated to leading by example, promoting respect, responsibility and a positive attitude.

Panther
Dominique
I'm Dominique, a 13-year-old dedicated to the performing arts. My main passion is dance, a commitment I've channeled into a leadership role as my team's co-captain. The stage also calls to me through acting, a creative outlet where I thrive on inhabiting various characters and collaborating with fellow performers to tell a story.

Panther Social Media Manager
Neveah
Meet Neveah, our energetic 14-year-old who thrives on movement and creativity. With a background in gymnastics, she brings exceptional balance, agility, and precision to everything she does. Beyond the field, Neveah serves as our Social Media Manager, using her eye for design, editing, and storytelling to bring the Panthers’ brand to life online.
More than the steps and kicks, Neveah cherishes the sisterhood of the Panthers. With her passion for digital media and creative design, Neveah potentially has a bright future in high-impact/paying creative field using her talents to design and edit promotional content for major organizations as Motion Graphics Designer (especially for WWE-style promos).

Pantherette
Nyla
Nyla, a dedicated 12-year-old and one of our rising stars! Off the dance floor, Nyla is a standout leader, currently serving as her 7th-grade Student Body President. Her athleticism shines in every routine, likely due to her dedication to both dance and basketball. More than any title or sport, Nyla loves the Panther sisterhood, where she's found unlimited love and support from her teammates.

Panther
Aliah
Introducing Aliah! When this dedicated Prancing Panther isn't bringing high energy to the stage, she's focused on her faith, fitness, and future. Aliah, whose signature color is pink, is currently enrolled in cosmetology school. Her inspiring plan is to launch two businesses: her own hair salon and a dance studio, ensuring dance is a central part of her life for years to come.

Mini Panther
Forever
Forever is 7 years old and this is her first year as a Prancing Pantherette! A huge fan of Hello Kitty and Lilo and Stitch, Forever hopes to one day sing, dance, and act. When she's not prepping for practice, she's busy making TikToks to show off all her new majorette moves. Forever is excited to bring her pointe, flexibility, and sass to the team. Go Panthers!

Brielle
Hi, my name is Brielle, and I am 10 years old and currently in the 5th grade. I have previous experience in both gymnastics and dance, which has helped with my love for performing. I am proud to serve as the captain of the Mini Panthers Majorette Team. I look forward to continuing to grow, perfect my skills, and being the best performer and leader I can be.

A'nyah
I’m A’nyah, a 15-year-old freshman in high school. I’m very outgoing and love staying active. I used to play softball, but I eventually discovered my passion for dance. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Since joining the team, I’ve truly appreciated the support and sisterhood from my teammates—it has been such a joy.

Panther
Brooklynn
Brooklyn is a dedicated 13-year-old with a strong passion for dance, having trained since the age of four and participated in cheerleading. She enjoys creative activities, such as hair styling and baking, and she demonstrates a naturally outgoing personality that helps her build positive connections with other others. She inspires to become a speech therapist in the future, with a strong desire to help individuals improve their communication skills.
Our Retired Team
From Panther Line to Collegiate Legacy
Our dedication to precision, discipline, and performance extends far beyond the high school field. We are incredibly proud of our graduates who have carried the Panther SWAG into higher education, furthering their studies and often their dance careers at some of the nation's most prestigious institutions.
Our alumni are currently attending:
-
Top HBCUs: Continuing the rich cultural tradition of majorette and showtime band performance, our former members have earned spots at Historically Black Colleges and Universities!
-
Division I (D1) Universities: Many of our graduates are thriving at large universities, balancing demanding academic coursework while contributing to dance programs, club sports, and official D1 college dance teams.
The commitment our dancers demonstrate in practice directly translates to success in the classroom and on the field, proving that the drive to excel is a core part of the Prancing Panthers legacy.

Aniah
Retired Panthers Captain 2023- Spring 2025-Hey y’all! My name is Aniah Mason and I'm a freshman psychology major at Howard University from Arizona. That was actually my “Howard Intro”. During my junior and senior year of high school, I was apart of a beautiful team known as the Prancing Panthers. Being a member of that team not only strengthened my leadership skills but also taught me the importance of discipline and order. When I earned the role as Captain, I was really happy that I was seen as someone that is capable of withholding such a very responsible role. One that has continued to inspire me to apply my leadership skills within other organizations here at Howard.

Salayah
Panther- I am Lay, a kinesiology student at the University of Kentucky and a retired Prancing Panther majorette. My early foundation in dance (since age seven) gave me an intrinsic feel for movement, which I now analyze through a scientific lens. As a personal trainer, I apply principles of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology to develop data-driven training programs. My career goal is to transition this expertise into strength and conditioning as a career for my own facility and possibly venture out to a high school football team as my way of giving back, focusing on enhancing speed, power, and injury resilience for student-athletes.

Amari
Panther- I'm Amari, and I have the great privilege of attending THEE Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This institution is a cornerstone of American history, recognized as the flagship of the nation's only historically Black land-grant university system and a powerful symbol of educational opportunity. I chose to major in Nursing here because the Southern University School of Nursing (SUSON) is nationally renowned, frequently ranking among the top nursing programs in the U.S. and is dedicated to training compassionate, highly-skilled nurses, especially for underserved communities. My goal is to leverage this exceptional education to fulfill my dream of becoming a Pediatric/NICU Nurse.

Taylor
Panther- Hi I'm Taylor a retired member of the Prancing Panthers Majorettes and a proud Psychology major at Fort Valley State University, the #1 public HBCU in Georgia. I am passionate about understanding human behavior and emotional wellness, I am also dedicated to turning knowledge into meaningful impact. Through both her academic journey and her time in dance, Taylor exemplifies discipline, purpose, and a deep commitment to uplifting others—qualities that perfectly align with her passion for becoming a psychologist dedicated to supporting emotional wellness and positive change.
